Wimborne Minster is set in the beautiful East Dorset countryside, but only 8 miles approx from Bournemouth and Poole, just 40 minutes from Southampton and Salisbury and just 2 hours from London and Bristol.

Car parking

The town has over 2,000 parking spaces in central car parks, and the Market has an additional 600 spaces.  Each car park is well signed with easy access to the Town Centre.

There are a limited number of spaces for free parking for a limited time period in the High Street and East Street, however you are advised to find your way to a car park.  Some businesses also have their own private car parks that you may wish to check with them prior to your visit.

Travelling by bus

There are two bus companies operating regular services to and from Wimborne Minster.

Travelling by train

The nearest train station is Poole. There are regular services from London and Weymouth, amongst others.  Taxis or buses are regularly available for the short 8 mile journey.

There are usually several taxis to choose from in Wimborne Minster.  The taxi ranks are in High Street and West Borough, both central to the town.

Ask for Wimborne Square or High Street for a central drop-off, or Wimborne Market for easy access to the market.

Coach Travel

National Express coaches come to Poole or Ringwood.  You can connect to a local bus service from either of these locations.

Coach, minibus and motor home parking can be found in Allendale Car Park, again central to town, with just a 2 minute walk. 

Free parking is available to pre-registerd vehicles carrying more than 8 passengers.
